Haze Zhou Educational Consulting, LLC advises families seeking admission for their child to independent educational institutions and programs. We work with students of all ages, starting with elementary/primary schools for US-based families, as well as exclusive independent day and boarding schools, and college counseling for students worldwide. 

Our personal, individualized approach focuses on ensuring schools look beyond a student’s test scores and see the whole person. We prepare students and their families for more than the application process; we also provide continuous support and coaching (through 12th grade) so students can succeed and best position themselves for university and beyond.

The application process for any independent educational opportunity can be anxiety-inducing, and the pressures and complexities of the process for students and their families grow with each new level attained.

College Planning & Placement

The college application process is complex; even figuring out which schools should be on your list can cause anxiety and stress! We work with families to start the planning process as early as possible to best position students for the best fit college and program. We emphasize student skills, preferences, and interests to create an authentic and engaging profile that stands out in a crowded field of high test scores, top 10 GPAs, and AP classes.

Secondary School Placement

We are experts at providing application support for students and families all levels, but we began with and still excel at independent secondary school placement for students (both international and domestic) studying in the United States.

We provide comprehensive support at every step in the process from planning your school list through arrival at school for the first night in the dorm!

Academic & Cultural Support

Studying at an independent secondary school in the United States can be a huge culture shock for students (and their families), regardless of where you’re from. We support students and families to prepare for, and adjust to, academic and social life in independent schools. We also provide specific academic support for all school subjects with an emphasis on understanding academic expectations and processes in the independent school world.

Extracurricular Programs

Many students and families are overwhelmed by the dozens of extracurricular opportunities offered by secondary schools, not to mention the thousands of others available during the summer and online. We help you find and select programs and/or activities that allows students to focus on subjects and fields of interest to them and their long-term educational and professional goals.
